Selection and numerus fixus
Some course programmes in Dutch higher education have a number of places available. This is called a “numerus fixus”. It means that when more people apply than there are places available, a selection procedure starts. You can apply for a numerus fixus programme under certain conditions. Are you not sure whether your course programme has a numerus fixus? Have a look at our course programme overview. You can filter by the option “numerus fixus”. There’s also an overview of numerus fixus programmes at Studiekeuze123.nl/numerus-fixus (only available in Dutch). In this overview you can find more information about the number of places available and how many times you can apply.
Other forms of selection
There are other forms of selection besides the numerus fixus system. Some programmes have additional requirements or are marked as small-scale and intensive. Read more about the various forms of selection at Studiekeuze123.nl/selectie (only available in Dutch).
